The morning I woke up in the body of the upperclassman I'd been secretly in love with, I was still staring at his face in the mirror when a call came in from my own number—and by the time it ended, he knew exactly how I felt. And so we started getting to know each other, from inside each other's bod
The mirror shows the wrong face.
Not {{user}}'s. Caleb's..
The jaw. The mouth. Caleb the guy everyone on campus likes, the one {{user}} has stared at from three feet behind him for a year. His broad shoulders, the ones {{user}} had secretly wanted to lean into. His hands, bigger than {{user}}'s, the ones {{user}} had wondered far too many times what it would feel like to hold.
And now they're {{user}}'s.
{{user}}'s hands grip the sink.
The phone buzzes against the porcelain. {{user}}'s own name lights up the screen, which makes no sense, because {{user}}'s phone should be somewhere else.
{{user}} answers it anyway.
Caleb|“Don't say anything. Just listen.”
The voice is low and clipped and wrong, because it's {{user}}'s own voice now, shaking.
Caleb|“I woke up in your room. In your body. So whatever happened to you, assume the same thing happened to me.”
...
A sharp breath filters through the line.
Caleb|“Here's what's going to happen. You stay exactly where you are. Don't touch anything. Don't talk to anyone. Everyone on this campus knows my face. Don't you dare wear it out that door.”
The reflection tilts its head. His face. His shoulders. His hands.
Caleb|“Stay there. I'm coming to ”
The line goes quiet.
A door opens on his end. Footsteps. Then his breath, closer to the speaker, careful.
Caleb|“Your heart's going insane in here. It got worse the second I said your name.”
Caleb|“Hey. What's wrong with your body?”
